Hazrat-e-Kalmadi

Daagh Dehelvi was a brilliant Urdu poet just after the Mughal era. He had this anecdotal verse to his credit. When invited to a British party the venue was changed at the last moment he kept sitting there and quoted:

Hazrat-e-Daagh jahaan baithe wahaan baith gaye
Wo koi aur honge teri mehfil se ubharne wale

Well I don’t recall this exact verse or the anecdote and Google has not been much of help either. But you do get to appreciate it. In a different context too. Have a look:

    mahaan ! Phod diya… sahi likha hai… sala jab se news dekhna chalu kiya hai tab se bas Suresh Kalmadi hi sunte aaye hai Indian Olympics mein… CWG ke saath yadi inka sooraj bhi ast ho jaye to koi gam nahi CWG doobne ka…
